Sometimes you post a video on TikTok and later change your mind. Maybe you noticed a mistake, got negative comments, or just want a fresh start. Deleting a TikTok video is simple and only takes a few taps.
Delete a Video from the TikTok App
Follow these steps to delete any video you have posted:
- Open the TikTok app on your phone
- Go to your profile by tapping the profile icon in the bottom right
- Find the video you want to delete
- Tap the three dots (or the share icon) on the right side of the video
- Scroll down and tap "Delete"
- Confirm by tapping "Delete" again
Once you confirm, the video is removed from your profile and from TikToks feeds. It cannot be recovered by you or by other users.
Delete a Video from the Website
If you use TikTok on a computer:
- Go to tiktok.com and log in
- Click your profile picture in the top right
- Click on the video you want to remove
- Click the three dots below the video
- Select "Delete" and confirm
What Happens After You Delete a Video
When you delete a TikTok video, it disappears from your profile and from all feeds. Likes, comments, and shares associated with that video are also removed. If someone saved or downloaded your video before you deleted it, they might still have a copy on their device.

Can You Recover a Deleted Video?
No. TikTok does not have a trash or recycle bin feature. Once you delete a video, it is permanently removed. Make sure you really want to delete it before confirming.
Delete Multiple Videos at Once
TikTok does not currently offer a way to delete multiple videos at the same time. You have to delete each video individually. If you want to clear your entire profile, you will need to delete each video one by one.
Privacy Tip
If you are not sure about deleting a video, you can set it to private instead. This hides the video from everyone except you. To do this, go to the video, tap the three dots, select Privacy Settings, and toggle "Private" on. You can make it public again later if you change your mind.
